The Festival needs you!

We have started recruiting a dynamic team of volunteers to help us over the course of the festival from the 29th of November to 2nd of December.
What is involved?
With talks, workshops, markets, concerts, tours and exhibitions- there is definitely something here to suit all tastes, ages and interests as Swift Fest 2018 Awakens Your Inner Giant.
Tasks
Festival ushers will be asked to help orientate visitors/ ticket holders into or out of events taking place across the city centre in the following venues-
- Saint Patrick’s Cathedral
- EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum
- The Science Gallery
- The Irish Writers Centre
- The National Gallery
- Irish Traditional Music Archive
- Kevin St Library
- . Sweetman Craft Brewery
- Dublin Castle.
Ushers will be expected to provide information on the specific event which they are at as well as the festival programme in general.
Prior experience, training etc
Potential volunteers do not need any prior experience or knowledge. Potential volunteers will be asked to actively engage with members of the public and should be mindful of this when applying. The role may also involve being on your feet for extended periods of time.
Support and supervision
Volunteers’ primary point of contact in the Cathedral is Festival Coordinator Sarah Cleary. She will be contactable throughout the duration of the festival. Owing to the fact that some events will run at the same time as others it may not be possible for her to be present onsite however a member of the Festival staff will also be available to provide support should it be needed.
Expectations
As representatives of The Jonathan Swift Festival we ask that Volunteers remain respectful of their fellow colleagues, the public and the venues in which they are located.
What do I do next?
